Massage

What to expect from a massage.

You should arrive about 10 minutes early for your appointment This will allow you to fill out the required paper work, give time to ask questions, and allow time for the therapist to explain everything. If you have any concerns or specific issues you may want to address this when making your appointment so both you and the therapist can be prepared.

Most massage services take about 60 minutes. Depending what you have chosen and scheduled for, the time may vary. You should try to use the restroom prior to going in the room with your therapist. Trying to relax and having the urge to use the restroom makes for a very uncomfortable hour!

Express all your concerns and questions prior to starting your massage. This will allow you to feel more relaxed and will allow the therapist to focus on you without any distractions. Of course if you decide to chat with your therapist that is fine too, it is your time and you can either speak through out or stay silent and just relax.

When you are brought into the massage room your therapist will explain everything. Most therapists ask that you remove all clothing, as you will be covered by a draping technique, using a sheet, blanket, towel, one or several of  the mentioned coverings. My rule of thumb is, if you do not want it covered in lotion, remove it. That goes for jewelry, undergarments, etc. Though you can keep on or take off what you are comfortable with, just know this makes it harder for your therapist to work around and may make it more difficult to relax. Most people do keep their underpants on. I find either way acceptable. At this time your therapist will instruct how to get on the table, if you will start face up or face down, and the general pattern that they will go. This will help you to relax and enjoy your massage with no surprises. This is also a good time to express any areas that you might like more attention to, like your feet or neck and shoulders.

If your therapist is using too much pressure or not enough you should let them to know. Your therapist does not want to hurt you, but they do want to try and address your concerns. Communication is key.

When your massage is finished, your therapist will let you know. They may give you more instructions, or encourage you to relax. You should take a minute or two and just relax before getting yourself dressed. When you leave the room your therapist will help you to check out and hopefully help you make your next appointment as well.

One of the biggest questions and most difficult questions I get is about tipping. How much? What is the average? I feel this is a personal choice, think of the tip as a "thank you". Tips general range from 5- 20, and at times more. Of course not tipping is common to. My main concern is keeping you as a client, and knowing you want to come back. So big tips, little tips, no tips....rescheduling is my biggest compliment.

Hope to see you soon!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Oh wonderful Sunday. How you speed by too fast.

My weekend is over. Not even sure if it ever started. Monday back to the grind. The phone and internet will soon be installed.

Interviewed a nice therapist today. We will see what the future holds. Very difficult putting your trust into someone when your own livelihood is on the line. Still some time until I find out about the establishment license. Many things can change by then.

The space is getting more and more inviting.  I cannot wait to invite current and new clients into the space.

See you soon,

Phone line....Internet....

Makes us that much closer to being official!!!!

Monday BrightHouse will be coming to the office to install internet and phone service. I hope it goes easy. So Balanced Therapy, LLC will have its own official phone number! And will happily have wireless internet!

Next things on the list, computer tower, printer, and the desk type thing I have been eying! Little closer everyday!

I have had yet another email about Yoga classes. Which is great. I wish the business was completely up and running! But good things take time, and I want to be sure the office looks its best before I welcome anyone in. It is getting there ;)

Today will be a good day!

See you soon,

AMAZING!

So, sadly I have no clear idea when we will officially  be open. Though it seems even without being open people are finding us. Which I am beyond GRATEFUL for. Just gives us that extra incentive to push forward and make the space that much more perfect.

We have had so far 4 calls/emails for yoga. As well as one call about the practice in general. So inspiring, I just hope we can meet their expectations and offer those future clients/students exactly what they need.

I hope Monday to find out if the key is available for the mail box. I am also hoping to get notification for inspections this week. Better said, "WHEN, I get notification for inspection this week, I will inform everyone!"

See you soon,

Waiting...

And waiting....waiting is a long wait!

The office is slowing looking like a wonderful space. A few more things here and there and it will be picture worthy. I so look forward to sharing this space with friends, family, and my clients. You will all be so amazed and in awe of what each of you has helped me accomplish.

Thank you.

Moving forward...

Another week well under way. I am still waiting for a key from the post office for my mail box, never heard back from the company about the sign. So not good business! I will try again, but that will be their last chance.

Called about phone and internet...boy do they get your cornered! Hopefully that will be taken care of next week.

One step closer!
